Big Storm Brewing Co. and the Tampa Bay Lightning have teamed up to brew a craft beer celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Bolts. The Lightning Twenty Five is a light lager, featuring classic American cluster hops and German pilsner barley malt.

“It’s exciting to play in role in highlighting the Lightning’s remarkable 25 years in the National Hockey League,” said Big Storm CFO and co-owner L.J. Govoni. “Big Storm Head Brewer Joel Moore has also done a fantastic job creating a stand-out beer that is worthy of the championship caliber team the Lightning will put on the ice this season,” Govoni added.

The number twenty-five is significant across the Lightning organization. In addition to celebrating twenty-five years as a franchise, the Lightning community is celebrating Dave Andreychuk, who will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame this year. Andreychuk wore jersey No. 25 when he led the Lightning as team captain to the 2004 Stanley Cup Championship.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will begin preseason play on Tuesday September 19th with a home game at Amalie Arena in Tampa against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Lightning begin regular season play on October 6th.

As a proud partner of the Lightning, Big Storm will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Lightning Twenty Five, to the Lightning Foundation which supports charities across Tampa Bay.

The Lightning Twenty Five will be available at Amalie Arena, various Tampa Bay restaurants and bars, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Total Wine & More, select Publix locations and other outlets.
